COUNSELOR IN TRAINING PROGRAM
This special leadership opportunity is designed for responsible, creative teens who are ready to grow as mentors, helpers, and young leaders within our summer art camp community. Teens, ages 13–15yrs old who are Little Tree alumni or a current student interested in gaining early work and childcare experience may apply.
For each summer camp week, we will select 3 CITs, and each CIT will then be assigned to shadow a lead teacher for the full week to help support campers ages 6–13yrs during our 9:00am–3:00pm summer art program. This is a hands-on training experience focused on leadership, responsibility, creativity, and teamwork.
All CITs must attend a required pre-camp work & training day JUNE 7th 10am-3pm.
If the work day is missed, the student will not be eligible to participate as a CIT.
$230 Program Fee
Includes:
Full day of training and CIT lesson planning folder for their camp week (lunch is included).
A full week of training & experience alongside a teacher with a completed leadership portfolio at the end.
Official Little Tree CIT hoodie.

CIT Ages 13–15yrs: Getting Started
• Learn camp routines, safety, and policies
• Shadow counselors to see how camp operates
• Help prep materials and organizing supplies
• Start building teamwork and communication skills
• Explore leadership in a fun, creative setting
Junior
CIT Ages 14–15yrs : Growing Skills
• Lead small group activities with guidance from staff
• Mentor younger campers in art projects
• Assist with organizing spaces and supporting daily activities
• Practice problem-solving and positive communication
• Build confidence as a young leader in the studio
Senior
CIT Ages 15–16yrs: Ready to Lead
• Supervise small groups under staff oversight
• Mentor and guide younger campers confidently
• Assist with planning and running activities
• Learn leadership and camp management basics
• Working towards eligibility for a Letter of Recommendation
