During this week of Spray painting camp, Little Artists ages 7-12 yrs created stencils of their own design which were used to spray piant on canvas a final work that was "About Me" Each artists created a mood board about things they enjoyed, loved to eat and colors that they would like to use. These mood boards help the Little Artists decide what type of symbols to use for stencils. Once the first draft of the canvas was laid out, artists began to cut their stencils from acetate plastic (reusable), tag board (reusable) and sticky paper (one time use).
Children learned how to cut out the positive and negative parts of the stencils using an exact-o knife. Deciding whether or not they wanted a "glow" or a clean edge was the biggest decision :)
Time to paint! Tape and Free hand painting was used for most backgrounds. Artists played with created shadows, splattering and overlap.
We all LOVED wearing the mask!
Time to share our art! This is a wonderful time for young artists to be proud of their accomplishments and talk about what they like in their art, what was new and challenging and what they like about others work!
