Patchwork Stuffed Animals

During this sewing camp, Little Artists made their very own patchwork stuffed animal using a pattern (Dog, Bear, Bunny or Cat). Artists choose and cut all their fabric and learn to pin the fabric pieces in preparation to sew. Children choose from a variety of soft fleece, faux fur, and patterned cotton fabric to create their patchwork stuffy. Hand sewing was taught for their animal's button eyes and mouths. Each animal had perfect characteristics of its maker! Patterns were pinned and cut....

We practice sewing on paper to get use to the machines and then made our very own pin cushions...

Then we took our time to sew on all the details and sewed the front and back together...

Next the stuffing and Little Tree Label were sewn in...and the stuffies were complete!

We even had time to make extras...blankets, sleeping bags, necklaces, bows, and bags!

And of course there has to be a Birthday Party for all these animals! We introduced our stuffies  to each other and ate animal cookies!
